Role Overview

We seek a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" combining expertise in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud software development. The senior architect role involves developing cloud features interacting with vehicle control units, reverse engineering firmware, and validating complex checksums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and perform custom checksum calculations.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Diagnose CAN bus communication issues using sniffer tools.
  • Collaborate on firmware and secure bootloaders with embedded developers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket/performance tuning.
  • Hands-on OEM diagnostic protocols expertise (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris).
  • Strong CAN bus communication and hardware interface knowledge.
  • Proficient in ECU firmware formats, checksum strategies, and reverse engineering tools.
  • U.S.-based for collaboration and support.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
