Role Overview

Become a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" architect combining low-level vehicle system mastery and cloud-based C# development. You'll lead in interpreting ECU binaries, implementing critical protocols, and developing complex cloud features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, perform manual hex analysis, and implement custom checksum calculations.
  • Master and troubleshoot communication stacks such as UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific protocols.
  • Analyze CAN traffic using Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer to resolve timing issues.
  • Collaborate on firmware and embedded system challenges including secure bootloaders.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, notably in aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Expertise in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and related hardware tools.
  • Proficiency in ECU firmware formats and disassembler tools.
  • U.S. based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
