Role Overview

We're seeking a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" engineer with expertise in low-level vehicle systems (ECU binary data, CAN logs) and high-level cloud development (C# services). As a senior systems architect, you will develop cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, analyze firmware binaries, and perform advanced checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum calculations.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific standards.
  • Analyze CAN logs and use tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer for troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate on firmware issues and secure bootloader development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, especially in aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces like PCAN and Kvaser.
  • Expertise in ECU firmware formats and checksum calculations.
  • US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in relevant fields.
