Our company has retained your recruitment services to conduct a confidential search for a Paint shop Cleaning Process Manager to join a leading manufacturing operation in Cleveland Ohio, USA.

The Paint Shop Cleaning Process Manager leads all cleaning operations inside the paint department to maintain safety, quality, equipment reliability, and production efficiency. This role manages cleaning processes for paint booths, robots, conveyors, tanks, filters, floors, walls, tooling, and related equipment used in industrial painting operations. The Paint Shop Cleaning Manager regularly prepares and presents cleaning performance reports, compliance results, and improvement initiatives to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Paint Shop Process Cleaning Management

  • Plan, schedule, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping activities across the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cleaning procedures, policies, and schedules aligned with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure cleanliness of production areas, restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common facility spaces.
  • All required reporting in systems • Weekly equalization report posted timely under CBA guidelines.

Team Supervision & Union Coordination

  • Develop and maintain cleaning schedules for paint shop equipment and work areas.
  • Manage cleaning procedures for paint booths, spray systems, ovens, tanks, and conveyors.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor contamination control and support paint quality standards.
  • Coordinate shutdown cleaning activities and preventive maintenance support.
  • Supervise cleaning technicians, contractors, and support personnel.
  • Control inventory of cleaning chemicals, PPE, tools, and consumables.
  • Reduce downtime caused by contamination, overspray buildup, or equipment blockage.
  • Analyze cleaning process performance and implement continuous improvement actions.
  • Support audits related to safety, ISO, environmental, and quality systems.
  • Train employees on cleaning standards, chemical handling, and safe work practices. •- Work closely with maintenance, production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Participate in recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating housekeeping personnel in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.

Job Description

  • Assign work tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and corrective guidance while adhering to union rules and job classifications.
  • Collaborate with union representatives and Human Resources to address staffing, scheduling, training, and performance matters.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, goals, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all open positions are posted and coordinated with HR following CBA.
  • Hold team accountable in set expectations and follow through on coaching and performance plans.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Process Cleaning Audits, company policies, OSHA requirements, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct inspections to verify safe housekeeping practices, including proper use, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Participate in safety audits, incident reviews, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Work with Quality to ensure KPI’s board is complaint

Inventory, Equipment & Resource Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Order supplies as needed and manage vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained, functional, and used safely.

Continuous Improvement & GMS Integration

  • Identify opportunities to improve housekeeping processes, efficiency, and effectiveness in a manufacturing environment.
  • Emplement best practices and innovative cleaning solutions in alignment with world class principless.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.

Record Keeping, Reporting & Leadership Communication

  • Maintain accurate documentation of cleaning schedules, inspections, inventory, and staff performance.
  • Compile, analyze, and report housekeeping metrics, audit results, and compliance status.
  • Prepare and present written and verbal reports to leadership regarding housekeeping performance, risks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to align housekeeping activities with operational needs.
  • Address and resolve housekeeping concerns raised by employees, supervisors, or leadership in a timely and professional manner.

Special Projects & Other Duties

  • Lead or support special cleaning projects, including deep cleans, shutdowns, and facility expansions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the facility.
  • Any additional project, assignments or responsibilities as assigned/requested from site manager.

Qualifications

##Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Industrial Cleaniang, Paint Shop Area or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of housekeeping experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills in a union setting.
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning processes, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, safety audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or facility management software.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Works primarily in a manufacturing environment requiring adherence to PPE and safety standards.
  • May involve exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals, machinery, dust, noise, and varying temperature conditions.
  • Requires physical activity including walking, standing, climbing, bending, and operating cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and access elevated areas as required.

Licensing, Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and ongoing background checks and drug testing in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
