Job Summary
The Histology Technician will perform important tasks needed for processing and preparing tissue specimens for microscopic analysis by a Pathologist. Responsibilities include logging, sorting, batching, cutting, mounting, and staining procedures. You'll receive tissue specimens from surgical, diagnostic, or autopsy cases, ensuring they are sorted and prioritized correctly according to required standards.
Duties
- Receive and sort specimens according to priority and difficulty.
- Embed specimens, fix tissue, and prepare solutions.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment for optimal performance.
- Assist the Pathologist in surgical specimens examination.
- Perform a range of routine and special histology procedures, from CAP workload recording to various staining processes.
