Overview:

The Garage Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the company vehicle fleet and equipment in a safe and reliable condition as directed. They will also respond to guest service calls in a professional and courteous manner and are responsible for various equipment repairs as directed by Foreman.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on company vehicles or equipment.
• Operate tow truck for service calls and ensure safe towing of vehicles.
• Respond to guest issues with the service truck, including vehicle lockouts, flat tires, and out-of-gas situations.
• Provide exceptional guest service according to Cedar Point standards.
• Perform related automotive and light truck service work as directed.
• Willingness to work any assigned shift or days.
• Adequate tool selection to perform basic repairs and service work.
• Operate 4 or 8-ton wreckers safely for vehicle towing.
• Follow all safety rules and policies and ensure equipment is secured before maintenance work.

Qualifications:

• Must have a driver's license.
• High school graduate or GED.
• ASE certification in auto repair (preferred).
• Must join laborers union if necessary.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
• May work in confined areas with exposure to chemicals, lubricants, and fumes.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
• Must pass a mandatory (or random) drug test per company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Must pass a background check if 18 years of age or older, which may include credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
