Role Overview

We seek a skilled engineer combining expertise in vehicle low-level systems (ECU binary analysis, CAN logs) and high-level cloud software development (C#). As a senior systems architect, you'll build cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, handle firmware binary processing, and validate complex checksums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform binary reverse engineering and checksum calculations on ECU/TCU/PCM firmware
  • Master communication protocols including UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks
  • Analyze CAN traffic and diagnose communication/timing issues using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer
  • Collaborate with embedded teams reviewing firmware code and secure bootloader processes

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with proprietary protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris
  • Deep knowledge of CAN bus, diagnostic standards, ECU firmware formats (Intel Hex, Motorola S-Record)
  • Proficient with disassemblers and hardware interfaces (OlyDBG, Ida Pro, PCAN, Kvaser)
  • US-based for synchronous collaboration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
