Role Overview

We're seeking a senior "Developer-Hacker" engineer skilled in low-level vehicle systems like ECU binary data interpretation and high-level cloud-based C# development. Responsibilities include system architecture, cloud feature development interacting with vehicle control modules, firmware binary processing, and checksum validation.

Key Highlights:

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum calculations.
  • Master communication protocols such as UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific standards.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloaders.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, focusing on aftermarket/performance tuning.
  • Expertise with diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris.
  • Strong knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces.
  • Skilled in binary firmware formats and disassembly tools.
  • US-based for timezone alignment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or electrical engineering.
