Role Overview

We're seeking a hands-on, senior-level engineer skilled in interpreting ECU binary data and developing cloud-based C# services. As a systems architect, you'll develop cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, analyze firmware binaries, and validate checksums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer firmware binaries with manual hex analysis and custom CRC calculations.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware problem-solving and secure bootloader support.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Proficiency in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and relevant hardware interfaces.
  • Expertise in ECU firmware formats, checksums/CRCs, and disassembler tools like OlyDBG or Ida Pro.
  • U.S. based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor's in CS, EE, or equivalent professional experience.
