Role Overview

We seek a senior "Developer-Hacker" skilled in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud development. Architect cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, reverse engineer ECU binaries, and lead checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement checksum (CRC) calculations.
  • Master vehicle communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific standards.
  • Analyze CAN traffic logs with tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, and CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloader issues.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of automotive software engineering experience, specializing in aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Hands-on expertise with OEM diagnostic protocols from Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris.
  • Proficient with CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid Control Systems).
  • Deep understanding of ECU firmware formats and reverse engineering tools (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • Based in the United States for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or automotive reverse engineering.
