Role Overview
We seek a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" with expertise in vehicle low-level systems and cloud service development. This senior role involves architecting cloud features interacting with vehicle modules, analyzing ECU firmware binaries, and performing complex checksum validations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware with custom checksum calculations.
- Master protocols like UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
- Analyze CAN logs and troubleshoot with sniffer tools (Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer).
- Collaborate on firmware review and embedded system problem-solving.
What You Bring
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering, especially aftermarket/performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic protocols from Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
- Strong CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II protocol knowledge and hardware interface proficiency.
- Expertise with ECU firmware formats and disassemblers (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
- Based in the US with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
