Role Overview

We're seeking a hands-on, senior 'Developer-Hacker' skilled in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud development, specifically C#. You'll architect cloud features interacting with vehicle modules, perform binary firmware analysis, and own complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries with manual hex deconstruction and custom checksum implementations.
  • Master and troubleshoot UDS, J1939, and OEM communication stacks.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware code review and embedded system problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering with aftermarket or performance tuning focus.
  • Hands-on experience with proprietary diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Proficient in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid Systems).
  • Expert in ECU firmware formats, checksum calculations, and disassembler tools (OlyDBG, IDA Pro).
  • Must be US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s in CS, EE, or equivalent professional experience.
