Role Overview
Seeking a skilled 'Developer-Hacker' with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and cloud-based software development. As a senior systems architect, you'll develop cloud features managing vehicle control modules, process firmware binaries, and perform checksum validations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries with manual hex and checksum calculations.
- Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
- Analyze CAN logs using tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
- Collaborate on firmware issues and secure bootloader development.
Requirements
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering, focus on aftermarket/performance tuning.
- Experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols.
- Proficient with CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II; hardware interfaces including PCAN, Kvaser, Vehicle Spy.
- Expert in ECU firmware formats and checksum algorithms, adept with debugging tools like OlyDBG and Ida Pro.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related fields.
Must be based in the US for real-time collaboration.
