Role Overview

We seek a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" with expertise in vehicle low-level systems (ECU binary data, CAN logs) and cloud-based software development (C# services). As a senior systems architect, you'll develop cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, process firmware binaries, and manage complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, perform hexadecimal analysis, and implement custom CRC calculations.
  • Master communication protocols: UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN logs with tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, and CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware development and secure bootloader solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, focusing on aftermarket/performance tuning.
  • Hands-on OEM diagnostic protocol experience (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris).
  • Deep knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware like PCAN, Kvaser.
  • Skilled in ECU firmware formats and disassembly tools (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • US-based for timezone alignment.
  • BSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
