Role Overview

Be a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" blending low-level vehicle system expertise and high-level cloud services development. As a senior systems architect, you'll develop cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, process firmware binaries, and perform complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, performing manual hex deconstruction and custom checksum implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and implement communication stacks for UDS, J1939, and OEM protocols across various vehicles.
  • Analyze CAN logs and use tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer for diagnostics.
  • Collaborate on firmware issues with embedded developers to support secure bootloaders.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, especially aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Expertise with proprietary protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Deep knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser).
  • Proficient in ECU firmware formats, disassembly tools, checksums.
  • US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
