Role Overview

Seeking a skilled "Developer-Hacker" with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and cloud-based C# services. As a senior systems architect, you will create cloud features interacting with vehicle modules, analyze firmware binaries, and conduct complex checksum validations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform binary reverse engineering on ECU/TCU/PCM firmware with custom checksum calculations.
  • Manage communication protocols such as UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific standards.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, and CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware troubleshooting and secure bootloader development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Hands-on with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris proprietary diagnostic protocols.
  • Expertise in CAN bus communication, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser).
  • Proficiency in ECU firmware formats and checksum/CRC calculations.
  • US-based with a Bachelor’s in CS, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent automotive reverse engineering experience.
