Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual reverse engineering of ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and checksum validations
  • Troubleshoot and implement UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific communication protocols
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer
  • Collaborate closely with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloader solutions

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of automotive software engineering experience focused on aftermarket/performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols
  • In-depth knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces
  • Skilled in ECU firmware formats and reverse engineering tools like OlyDBG or Ida Pro
  • Based in the United States for time-zone aligned collaboration
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in related fields
