Role Overview

We seek a senior "Developer-Hacker" who blends expertise in low-level vehicle systems (ECU binary analysis, CAN protocols) with high-level cloud development using C#. This role architects systems, develops cloud features that integrate with vehicle control modules, and decodes complex firmware data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM binaries and implement custom checksum validations
  • Master communication protocols like UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific stacks
  • Analyze CAN traffic using tools like Vehicle Spy and PCAN
  • Collaborate on embedded firmware and secure bootloader problem-solving

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering with aftermarket or tuning focus
  • Proven expertise with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols
  • Deep knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces
  • Proficiency with ECU firmware formats and disassembler tools
  • US-based for synchronous collaboration
  • Bachelor’s in relevant fields or equivalent professional experience
