Role Overview
We're seeking a senior-level Developer-Hacker with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud software development. You will architect cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, reverse engineer ECU firmware, and validate complex data checksums.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and custom checksum calculations.
- Master protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
- Analyze CAN traffic using tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
- Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloader solutions.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or performance tuning.
- Strong experience with proprietary diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris.
- In-depth knowledge of CAN communication, hardware interfaces, ECU firmware formats, and disassembler tools.
- Must be US-based for coordination and support.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional automotive reverse engineering experience.
