Role Overview

We seek a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" with expertise in low-level vehicle systems (ECU binary data, CAN logs) and high-level cloud C# development. As a senior systems architect, you'll build cloud features interfacing with vehicle modules, process firmware binaries, and handle complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, perform hex deconstruction, and implement checksum calculations.
  • Master protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN traffic and troubleshoot communication/timing using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware issues and secure bootloader development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focusing on aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Hands-on OEM diagnostic protocol experience (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris).
  • Strong CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II knowledge; experience with hardware interfaces.
  • Expertise in ECU firmware formats and checksum computation.
  • Must be US-based for collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent expertise in relevant engineering fields.
