Role Overview

We seek a senior "Developer-Hacker" with expertise in low-level vehicle systems like ECU binary data and CAN logs, alongside cloud-based C# development. As a systems architect, you will design cloud features that interface with vehicle modules, process firmware binaries, and execute complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform binary reverse engineering of ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries with manual hex analysis and custom CRC calculations.
  • Master communication protocols (UDS, J1939, OEM-specific) across various vehicle platforms.
  • Analyze CAN traffic using sniffer tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware development, including C code review and secure bootloader solutions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Proficient in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid).
  • Expertise in ECU firmware formats and checksum calculations.
  • Must be based in the US for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
