Role Overview
We seek a senior-level "Developer-Hacker" skilled in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud development to architect systems interacting with vehicle modules, process ECU binaries, and implement complex checksum validations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and calculate custom checksums (CRC).
- Master and troubleshoot UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM protocols.
- Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
- Collaborate on firmware and secure bootloader development.
Requirements
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering, focusing on aftermarket or performance tuning.
- Expertise with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols.
- Strong command of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces.
- Deep knowledge of ECU firmware formats and checksum calculations.
- U.S.-based with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
