Role Overview

We seek a senior "Developer-Hacker" skilled in low-level vehicle systems and advanced cloud C# services. As a systems architect, you will create cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, decode firmware binaries, and execute complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform binary reverse engineering on ECU/TCU/PCM firmware with manual hex analysis and custom checksum algorithms.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer to resolve communication issues.
  • Collaborate on firmware problem-solving and support secure bootloader development.

Qualifications

  • Over 7 years of automotive software engineering experience focused on aftermarket/performance tuning.
  • Proven expertise with proprietary diagnostic protocols from Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Solid knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II; skilled with hardware interfaces like PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid Control Systems.
  • Proficient in ECU firmware formats and checksum techniques using tools like OlyDBG and Ida Pro.
  • Must be US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or automotive reverse engineering.
