Role Overview

Seeking a senior "Developer-Hacker" skilled in interpreting ECU binaries and CAN logs, and developing cloud C# services. Act as a systems architect crafting features that interact with vehicle control modules, firmware analysis, and complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM binaries and implement custom checksum calculations
  • Master and troubleshoot communication protocols: UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer
  • Collaborate on firmware development and secure bootloader solutions

Experience & Skills:

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, aftermarket focus
  • OEM protocol expertise with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris
  • Proficient with CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces
  • Skilled in ECU firmware formats and checksum algorithms
  • Located in the US for real-time collaboration

Education: Bachelor's or equivalent experience in CS, EE, or related fields.
