Role Overview
We're seeking a senior-level Developer-Hacker with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and cloud-based C# services. Lead as a systems architect designing cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, firmware analysis, and checksum validations.
Responsibilities
- Perform binary reverse engineering of ECU/TCU/PCM firmware, custom checksum implementations
- Master UDS, J1939, OEM proprietary communication protocols
- Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer
- Collaborate on firmware, assist embedded developers with secure bootloaders
Requirements
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering in aftermarket or performance tuning
- Experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols
- Strong CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II protocol knowledge
- Familiar with hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid Control Systems)
- Proficient in ECU firmware formats and checksum calculations
- US-based for real-time support
- Bachelor's in CS, EE or equivalent experience
