Role Overview

Seeking a skilled engineer with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud software development. As a senior architect, you will develop cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, analyze firmware binaries, and perform complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, implement custom checksum calculations.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN logs, diagnose communication issues using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate with firmware developers on embedded systems and secure bootloaders.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket/performance tuning.
  • Experience with proprietary diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Knowledgeable in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid).
  • Proficient in ECU firmware formats, checksum calculations, and using disassemblers like OlyDBG, Ida Pro.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • US-based for real-time collaboration and support.
