Role Overview
As a senior-level Developer-Hacker, you'll architect cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, reverse-engineer ECU binaries, and perform complex checksum validations. Your hands-on skills span low-level vehicle systems and high-level C# cloud development.
Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries with hex deconstruction and custom CRC calculations.
- Master and implement communication stacks for UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM protocols.
- Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer to troubleshoot timing and communication issues.
- Collaborate on firmware and secure bootloader problem-solving.
Requirements
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering, focused on aftermarket or performance tuning.
- Experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols.
- Expertise in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Intrepid Control Systems).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering.
- US-based for real-time collaboration.
