Role Overview

We seek a senior "Developer-Hacker" engineer skilled in low-level vehicle systems (ECU binary data, CAN logs) and high-level cloud software (C#). As a systems architect, you’ll develop cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, process firmware binaries, and perform complex checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement checksum (CRC) calculations.
  • Troubleshoot and implement communication stacks for UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM protocols.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloaders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering with aftermarket focus.
  • Expertise with proprietary diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Proficiency in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards and hardware interfaces.
  • Deep knowledge of ECU firmware formats and disassemblers like OlyDBG or Ida Pro.
  • US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
