Role Overview
Seeking a senior engineer skilled in low-level vehicle systems (ECU binary data, CAN logs) and high-level cloud development (C# services). Lead as a systems architect creating cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules and performing complex binary processing and checksum validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum calculations.
- Master UDS, J1939, and OEM protocols on diverse vehicle platforms.
- Analyze CAN traffic using sniffer tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
- Collaborate on firmware troubleshooting and secure bootloader support with embedded developers.
Requirements
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering with aftermarket or performance tuning expertise.
- Hands-on experience with proprietary diagnostics for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
- Proficient in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II protocols and hardware interfaces.
- Deep knowledge of ECU firmware formats, checksum calculations, and disassemblers like OlyDBG or Ida Pro.
- Must reside in the United States for real-time collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent automotive reverse engineering experience.
