In this senior role, you'll architect systems that blend low-level vehicle protocols with cloud-based development—an exciting chance to work with ECU firmware, CAN logs, and vehicle reverse engineering.
What You'll Do
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries with hex manipulation and custom checksum coding.
- Master and troubleshoot vehicle communication stacks like UDS, J1939, and OEM protocols.
- Analyze CAN traffic with tools such as Vehicle Spy and CANalyzer.
- Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloader challenges.
You Bring
- 7+ years in automotive software with a focus on aftermarket or performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with OEM protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
- Strong CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II knowledge and hardware interface proficiency.
- Expertise in ECU firmware formats and disassemblers like OlyDBG, Ida Pro.
- US-based with a Bachelor’s in CS, EE, or equivalent automotive reverse engineering experience.
