Role Overview

Seeking a skilled "Developer-Hacker" experienced in low-level vehicle systems (ECU binary analysis, CAN logs) and cloud development (C#). As a senior systems architect, you'll build cloud features integrating with vehicle modules, perform firmware processing, and checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, perform hex deconstruction, and implement CRC checksums.
  • Master protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM communications.
  • Analyze CAN traffic using tools (Vehicle Spy, PCAN, CANalyzer).
  • Collaborate on firmware and secure bootloader support.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in automotive software with aftermarket/performance tuning focus.
  • Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Expertise in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards and hardware tools.
  • Proficient in ECU firmware formats, checksum calculation, and disassemblers (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s in CS, EE, or related field / equivalent experience.
