Join Salvo Software as an Aftermarket Automotive Protocol & Binary Systems Architect

At Salvo Software, we are pioneering automotive technology with cloud and diagnostic solutions to create safer and smarter vehicles. We seek a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud-based C# development. You will architect systems that interface with vehicle control modules, analyze ECU firmware binaries, and implement custom checksum validations. This senior role demands mastery in vehicle communication protocols (UDS, J1939) and collaboration in firmware development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware with manual hex and checksum analysis
  • Troubleshoot and implement UDS, J1939, OEM protocols
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN
  • Collaborate on firmware issues with embedded developers

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in automotive software, aftermarket or performance sectors
  • Experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols
  • Strong knowledge of CAN bus, OBD-II, and hardware tools
  • Proficient in ECU firmware formats and disassemblers
  • US-based required for effective collaboration
  • Bachelor’s in CS, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
