Role Overview
We're seeking a hands-on "Developer-Hacker" senior engineer with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and cloud development. Architect cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, process ECU firmware binaries, and perform checksum validations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum calculations.
- Master communication protocols including UDS, J1939, and OEM specifics.
- Analyze CAN logs and diagnose complex communication issues using industry tools.
- Collaborate on embedded firmware problems and secure bootloader solutions.
Requirements
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering, aftermarket/performance focus.
- Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols.
- Strong knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Vehicle Spy).
- Expertise in ECU firmware formats and using disassembler tools.
- US-based for time-zone aligned collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or automotive reverse engineering.
