Role Overview

We are seeking a senior hands-on engineer experienced in vehicle binary reverse engineering, automotive protocols like UDS and J1939, and cloud-based C# service development. As a systems architect, you will design cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, analyze ECU firmware, and ensure secure checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual hex deconstruction and implement custom checksum calculations on ECU/TCU/PCM firmware.
  • Master communication protocols including UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer for troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with embedded teams reviewing C code and supporting secure bootloader development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in automotive software, especially aftermarket or performance tuning.
  • Hands-on knowledge of OEM diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Deep expertise in CAN bus, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces such as PCAN and Kvaser.
  • Proficiency with firmware formats (Intel Hex, Motorola S-Record) and disassemblers (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • US-based for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
