Role Overview

Seeking a senior "Developer-Hacker" skilled in vehicle systems and cloud software development. Architect cloud features interacting with vehicle control modules, reverse-engineer ECU binaries, and validate checksums with your expertise in automotive protocols and firmware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries, performing checksum calculations.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Diagnose vehicle communication issues with CAN log analysis using tools such as Vehicle Spy and PCAN.
  • Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware and secure bootloader problems.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or performance sectors.
  • Hands-on experience with proprietary protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Proficient in CAN bus communication, UDS, J1939, OBD-II, and hardware interfaces like PCAN, Kvaser.
  • Deep knowledge of ECU firmware formats and disassemblers like OlyDBG or Ida Pro.
  • Based in the US for real-time collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or equivalent professional experience.
