Role Overview

Seeking a senior-level "Developer-Hacker" engineer with expertise in low-level vehicle systems and high-level cloud software development. Lead as a systems architect focused on interpreting ECU binaries, CAN logs, and implementing cloud services with advanced checksum validation.

Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware using manual hex analysis and CRC calculations.
  • Master communication protocols including UDS, J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
  • Analyze CAN traffic using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, and CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate on firmware development and secure bootloader enhancements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering with aftermarket tuning experience.
  • Proficient with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards.
  • Skilled in ECU firmware formats and disassembly tools.
  • US-based for collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or electrical engineering.
