Role Overview

We seek a hands-on 'Developer-Hacker' with deep expertise in ECU binary data and CAN communication protocols, combined with cloud-based C# software development skills. As a senior systems architect, you'll design cloud features integrated with vehicle modules, reverse engineer firmware, and perform complex checksum validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum calculations.
  • Master communication stacks for UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM protocols.
  • Analyze CAN logs using advanced sniffer tools.
  • Collaborate on firmware issues, including secure bootloader development.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering, aftermarket or performance tuning focus.
  • Hands-on experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris diagnostic protocols.
  • Proficient with CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser, Vehicle Spy).
  • Skilled in ECU firmware formats and disassembler tools (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • US-based for time-zone synchronized collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
