Role Overview

Seeking a senior "Developer-Hacker" skilled in low-level ECU binary analysis and high-level cloud C# development. Architect and develop cloud features that interact with vehicle control modules, handle firmware binaries, and perform advanced checksum validations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum computations.
  • Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific standards.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
  • Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware troubleshooting and secure bootloader issues.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or tuning.
  • Expert knowledge of proprietary diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
  • Proficient with CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces.
  • Skilled with firmware formats and disassemblers (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • Based in the US with a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
