Role Overview
Seeking a senior "Developer-Hacker" skilled in low-level ECU binary analysis and high-level cloud C# development. Architect and develop cloud features that interact with vehicle control modules, handle firmware binaries, and perform advanced checksum validations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries and implement custom checksum computations.
- Master communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific standards.
- Analyze CAN logs using tools such as Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
- Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware troubleshooting and secure bootloader issues.
Requirements:
- 7+ years in automotive software engineering focused on aftermarket or tuning.
- Expert knowledge of proprietary diagnostic protocols for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris.
- Proficient with CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces.
- Skilled with firmware formats and disassemblers (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
- Based in the US with a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
