Join General Motors as a qualified Industrial Electrician Journeyperson. Work independently in layout, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of complex electrical systems. You'll troubleshoot and provide expertise on control systems in a safety-focused environment adhering to OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electrical equipment
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions swiftly to avoid production delays
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
- Collaborate effectively with other departments
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Read and interpret electrical schematics
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years related experience or a Department of Labor Certificate of Completion
- Must complete GM's hiring process including assessments and background checks
- Flexible to work various shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the U.S.
Physical Requirements
- Respond quickly to safety signals
- Ability to stand for long periods and wear PPE
- Lift up to 50 lbs and perform various physical movements
