Job Description

Due to recent expansion, Akkodis is seeking three full-time Integration Solution Engineers to join its dedicated onsite team in the Greensboro, NC Metro area.

In this role, you'll connect customer applications, body equipment requirements, and next-generation vocational products to deliver well-integrated, application-ready vehicle solutions. Your focus will be moving integration planning upstream into the order specification process, helping dealers select factory preparations that simplify installation and maximize completed-vehicle capabilities.

You will work across Sales Engineering, Product Management, Engineering, and sales teams, collaborating with dealers, body builders, and installers. The roles bring these perspectives together to align customer needs, factory specifications, and body equipment requirements before the vehicle is built.

Help shape the next generation of vocational transport. Bring together commercial truck chassis technology, body equipment, and customer applications to create integrated solutions that are easier to install, faster to deploy, and better equipped to perform.

About the role

Pay Range: $100,000 to $140,000/yr. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

Automotive Integration Solution Engineers job responsibilities include:

  • Develop deep knowledge of the next-generation vocational platform, factory options, body integration interfaces, and application limitations. Research how body equipment can utilize available chassis, electrical, control, and programming capabilities.
  • Gather and document end-customer use cases, duty cycles, payload needs, equipment functions, and body installer requirements. Translate these inputs into clear vehicle specification and integration recommendations.
  • Guide dealer sales personnel in selecting factory options and advance preparations. Recommend chassis layouts and component placement that accommodate equipment, installation clearances, weight distribution, and service access.
  • Identify electrical wiring, power supply, connection, control-interface, and available programming preparations that support the intended body installation and equipment operation.
  • Apply engineering research and technical judgment to evaluate compatibility and trade-offs. Prioritize existing pre-engineered solutions, confirm uncertainties with specific engineering function specialists, and route capability gaps for appropriate technical or customer adaptation review.
  • Coordinate integration requirements among dealers, body builders, installers, and internal stakeholders. Document specification dependencies, assumptions, limitations, and responsibilities before order submission and installation handoff.
  • Recommend preparations that reduce avoidable component relocation, rewiring, reprogramming, and installation rework, supporting faster entry into service for the end customer.
  • Research supported programming and reconfiguration opportunities that improve application performance and operational flexibility. Coordinate review of changes affecting compatibility, safety, or approved operating limits.
  • Develop application guides, specification checklists, training, and presentations that help dealers explain the value of coordinated chassis-body solutions and demonstrate the vocational platform's capabilities.
  • Capture installer feedback and completed-vehicle outcomes. Identify repeatable integration solutions, standardized preparation opportunities, and product improvements that strengthen customer confidence and support vocational sales growth.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automotive, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant technical education and industry experience.
  • Relevant experience in heavy-duty vehicle application engineering, vocational equipment, body integration, technical sales support, or a related field.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and configuration documentation, and translate requirements into substantiated recommendations.
  • Clear communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical options and coordinate solutions across customers, dealers, installers, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical judgment, initiative, and organization, including the ability to manage multiple requirements and resolve competing priorities.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Class 8 Heavy Duty vehicle configurations, body installer guidance, or factory preparation options.
  • Practical understanding of chassis packaging, electrical systems, equipment controls, and vehicle-body interfaces.
  • Experience with vehicle programming, equipment control integration, body installation, or supported reconfiguration.
  • Experience developing dealer training, application guides, specification checklists, or repeatable technical solutions.
