About the role
The Automotive Service Manager oversees service operations for a used car lot, supervising six mechanics and coordinating mechanical repairs, pre-sale inspections, and mixed service activities. Reporting to the dealership owner, this role manages customer service, parts ordering, scheduling, and repair workflows using spreadsheets and manual records. The schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., five days per week, with a half day on Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of six mechanics.
- Schedule service appointments and manage daily repair operations.
- Order parts and coordinate inventory needs.
- Provide customer service and make service recommendations.
- Prepare repair estimates and manage work orders.
- Perform quality control on completed repairs and pre-sale inspections.
- Coordinate with vendors and maintain service-related records.
- Support safety compliance across service operations.
Requirements
- Four or more years of experience in automotive service management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
