Japanese-English Technical Translator-Interpreter

A global automotive parts company in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an entry-level English-Japanese bilingual technical translator-interpreter. The ideal candidate will communicate with customers and provide language support for administrative tasks. This is a full-time direct-hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Translate documents and emails in Japanese and English.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments for associates and managers.
• Assist with executive meetings between upper management, clients, etc.
• Support multicultural communication in office and factory settings, including visiting client sites when needed.
• Handle administrative tasks, respond to customer inquiries, and understand their needs.
• Input data into the database and keep records updated.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Business-level Japanese language skills are required (equivalent to JLPT N2 level).
• Ability to travel for business, such as attending trade shows and meetings, amounting to no more than 10% of the time.
• An associate’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Linguistics, Social Studies, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Strong experience in Japanese and English interpretation and translation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to do other tasks as assigned.
• This position is in an office work environment. While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20 pounds, lift in excess of 20 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
