About the Role

Join Tether as a Lead Drive-by-Wire (DBW) & Automotive Systems Engineer where you'll own the critical interaction layer between software and physical vehicle actuation. Work hands-on managing embedded systems on military and commercial autonomous vehicle platforms, including Class 8 semi-trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of DBW system architecture and integration
  • Develop low-level embedded firmware for custom ECUs
  • Design and manipulate automotive networks (CAN bus, J1939, AUTOSAR)
  • Reprogram OEM truck ECUs for seamless autonomous control
  • Lead system architecture, safety analysis, and wiring topology
  • Conduct full-scale field testing and operational vehicle control
