Midwest Automotive Design--Hardwood Production Supervisor

About the role

Assemble wood components from engineering drawings, utilizing a variety of different tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Routing and building wood component parts
• Understand and carry out verbal and written directions in English
• Close attention to detail
• Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled
• Assist in training cabinet makers at all skill levels
• Meet minimum safety and 5S standards
• Meet all QA and QC standards for each task
• Comply with all the rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook
• Other duties and responsibilities as required

Requirements

• 2 years or more experience required
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand at a workstation for multiple hours a day (minus specified breaks)
• Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
• Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices
• Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
• Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools
• Ability to laminate cabinets and panels as needed
• Familiar with the safe operation of various tools including but not limited to drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and routers
• Ability to use basic mathematics
• Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
