Role Overview
Join GKN Automotive as a Product & Process Mechanical Engineer, collaborating closely with production, leadership, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and develop manufacturing processes. Provide critical technical support across all shifts, troubleshoot equipment issues, and lead maintenance efforts on production machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample and test parts per established protocols
- Support leadership in corrective actions and process enhancements
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges
- Guide quality technicians and internal audit teams
- Train operators on production and maintenance standards
- Ensure workplace safety and adhere to HSE regulations
- Manage machine overhauls and coordinate equipment installation
- Lead cost reduction and productivity initiatives
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with 2+ years manufacturing experience
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools
- Knowledge of PC software and CAD preferred
- Able to lift 50 lbs occasionally and travel independently
