About the role

The Program Manager will be based in Walker, MI, reporting to the Manager of Program Management.

In this role, you will have 1 direct report and be in charge of guiding a team of cross-functional experts in the delivery of customer-focused products and services. You will support the development and implementation of project, pricing, and program strategies to continue delivering value to the business and its customers.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and direct program schedules and budgets.
• Track relevant metrics and drive action items based on results.
• Provide help, knowledge, and expertise with contract negotiations as required.
• Oversee all interdepartmental activities, ensuring completion of all commitments related to product development timelines, delivery, quality, and required business metrics.
• Review program proposals or plans to resolve time frames, funding requirements, procedures for accomplishing the program, staffing requirements, and the allocation of available resources to various phases of the program.
• Establish a work plan and staffing for each phase of the program and arrange for recruitment or assignment of personnel.
• Manage the coordination of product life cycle activities with P&L and customer satisfaction, and control different accounts of various complexities.
• Be the key channel of communication for customers and act as an escalation point in the event of customer issues.
• Lead customer satisfaction reviews and corrective actions.
• Maintain current business and develop additional business with customers.
• Monitor and track that project and program deliverables are met.
• Be accountable for maintaining excellent customer relations with both new and existing customers.
• Support production sites on projects, costs, and other customer-related matters through business and expertise.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing industry experience in program administration/management of Fortune 50 automotive manufacturing programs (or similar), along with product launch experience.
• Automotive manufacturing industry experience is ideal; experience from other highly regulated manufacturers is also desirable.
• Demonstrates advanced operations, technical, and people and/or process skills, as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries, or functions and understanding of the interdependencies of such processes at the site.
• Accountability for the program wellness.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
