The position is in Stamford, Connecticut. The Program Manager directs and coordinates cross-functional teams to execute program deliverables and meet customer milestones within an automotive phase gate process. The Program Manager leads and directs cross-functional teams to meet all internal quality and financial metrics, provides timely quotes, ensures capacity needs will be met, and supports continuous improvement cost-reduction initiatives to meet financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Award new projects by working with cross-functional teams (CFT).
• Review RFQ packages with the Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to define achievable specifications for quotation.
• Gather cost information from factory PM, prepare quotation packages and financial analyses for management approval, and submit budgetary quotations to customers.
• Drive cost optimization with the CFT throughout the project phase.
• Gather competition information and prepare negotiating strategies to help secure awards.
• Follow up on open RFQs and push for closure.
• Manage contract review and obtain management approval.
• Drive flawless launches of awarded projects.
• Pursue NRE POs, prepare Asset Requests (AR), and work with Customer Service and the Financial team to close AR payment and NRE PO invoicing.
• Set up and manage internal and external project meetings to drive resolution and closure of open items.
• Coordinate with the CFT to meet project timing and milestones. Maintain Gantt charts for customer review on a weekly basis.
• Maintain project financial updates and meet pre-set financial goals. Report financial status to management on a regular basis.
• Coordinate and supervise all document submissions to meet phase gate requirements.
• Define project risks (4M analysis, i.e. tooling, automatic machine, capacity, supply chain, cost impact) and take proactive actions to mitigate risks.
• Support change management after Start of Production (SOP).
• Support forecasting and budget planning.
• Assist in global automotive projects as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel as needed to visit customers, production sites, and suppliers (10%).

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is preferred, plus at least (3) years of automotive experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the APQP / PPAP phase gate development process is preferred.
• Knowledge of OEM and/or related Tier 1 suppliers’ development deliverables, milestones, and process requirements is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with project management software.
• Demonstrates exceptional communication skills.
