Role Overview
Seeking a senior "Developer-Hacker" with deep knowledge of vehicle low-level systems and cloud-based development in C#. You'll architect cloud features interfacing with vehicle control modules, decode firmware binaries, and perform complex checksum validations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse-engineer binary firmware including ECU/TCU/PCM with manual hex and checksum techniques.
- Master and troubleshoot communication protocols like UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific stacks.
- Analyze CAN traffic using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer.
- Collaborate on firmware development and secure bootloaders with embedded engineers.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in automotive software, focusing on aftermarket or performance tuning.
- Experience with Ford, GM, Stellantis, Polaris diagnostic protocols.
- Proficient in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces.
- Skilled in ECU firmware formats and checksum disassembly tools.
- US-based for timezone collaboration.
- Bachelor’s in CS, EE, or equivalent automotive reverse engineering experience.
