Join a collaborative and hands-on team focused on embedded systems and cloud services, where your work directly impacts the aftermarket vehicle industry.

Role Overview

We seek a senior-level "Developer-Hacker" skilled in low-level vehicle systems and cloud-based C# development. You will architect systems that interact with vehicle control modules, decode ECU binaries, and validate checksums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer ECU/TCU/PCM firmware binaries with manual hex analysis and custom checksums (CRC).
  • Master protocols such as UDS (ISO 14229), J1939, and OEM-specific communications.
  • Analyze CAN logs using tools like Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or CANalyzer to resolve complex timing issues.
  • Collaborate with embedded developers on firmware challenges and secure bootloader solutions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in automotive software engineering with aftermarket or tuning focus.
  • Hands-on expertise with proprietary diagnostic protocols from Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Polaris.
  • Proficient in CAN bus, UDS, J1939, OBD-II standards, and hardware interfaces (PCAN, Kvaser).
  • Deep experience with ECU firmware formats and binary disassembly tools (OlyDBG, Ida Pro).
  • US-based to ensure time-zone aligned collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
