Job Description
Role Overview We are looking for a seasoned VAVE Engineer specializing in automotive underbody components, sheet metal design, and cost optimization. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to drive value analysis, should-cost analysis, and cost reduction initiatives effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead VAVE activities for automotive underbody and exhaust systems
- Conduct should-cost analysis and detailed cost breakdowns
- Manage sheet metal design and assess manufacturing feasibility
- Partner with suppliers and engineering teams for cost optimization
- Analyze manufacturing processes: stamping, welding, assembly
- Support teardown benchmarking and cost workshops
- Utilize CAD (CATIA, NX) and PLM for design and engineering changes
- Ensure product designs meet cost, quality, and manufacturability standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field
- 5+ years in automotive product development or VAVE/cost engineering
- Expertise in underbody/exhaust systems, sheet metal design, manufacturing processes
- Proficient with CAD tools (CATIA, NX)
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Experience with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and familiarity with Ford systems (GPDS, WERS, AIMS).
